Total Eclipse of the Moon

Posted in General, Personal at 6:13 pm by uphoto

For those of you who missed the eclipse last night, no worries I have your back. If anyone was looking for me between 7:00 and 10:30pm last night you could have found me on my roof and all over the yard. I had several cameras going and took over 600 images. I was able to narrow it down to a few with incredible detail. I never really thought the moon was so cool until now. The dark spots are called the dark seas and the cool spider web looking thing is a giant crater. Anyway if you click on the image it will take you to a larger version that may take a while to load, but you can see a lot more detail.

The Weekends

Posted in Personal at 11:59 am by uphoto

Samantha and I spend most weekends together that the Studio doesn’t have a wedding or special event. It’s great “daddy and daughter time”. I’m sure it’s well, I know it’s a completely different world for her when we are alone together. Some weeks there is an agenda – get laundry done, clean this, empty the dishwasher, drive here or there, sometimes she even sits with me when I work on a few orders. On the weekends that I am under the weather, there is no agenda, not much of a timeline. We tend to just do whatever we do. We eat whatever there is around the house and watch whatever is on tv. Today, being under the weather… we will be enjoying a very freeform day. Here are a few shots (taken with our point and shoot) of Samantha’s peanut butter sandwich breakfast.  A great start to the day!

Happy Valentines Day!

We brought Samantha into the studio for a quick Valentines Session. We couldn’t decide which card to use so we choose two of them.

The 5 Minute Parking Lot Session

Posted in Engagements at 3:49 pm by uphoto

I was cleaning off my computer when I came across this great set of images that I had taken of Danielle and Jimmy Smith. Many of you know Danielle, she is face you see when you come in for your Planning Consultations, Sessions and Presentations. These images were taken out in the parking lot of the mall – it was a quick session for her Christmas Card. We had literally just a few minutes to get these taken before all usable light had faded. It took us more time to figure out what we wanted to do than it actually took to take the shots. I really thought these turned out incredible and just wanted to share. BTW her Christmas Cards turned out way so cool. They were printed on a metallic paper and lots of fun textures. We’ll be happy to show it to you the next time you are in the studio.

Aren’t these two just adorable!

Jake a New Member of the Family

Posted in General, Pets at 3:45 pm by uphoto

It’s funny how you can have your day planned out, and then all of a sudden the cutest puppy ever pops in for a visit. Jake is the new love of Bob and Jackie Canaday (2 of Dad’s best friends). We were blessed to spend the last few hours with him. He came in for a quick visit and ended up the model of the week. His photos were so spectacular that we just had to show everyone. These are just a few of the award winners that we were able to capture from his session.

He’s just SO STINKIN CUTE!!!

Sydney & Family Portrait, Nashville, TN

Posted in Children, Family at 11:10 pm by uphoto

The McGarr’s are another family that we have loved getting to know throughout the past few years. Sydney and Samantha (Uchida) are the same age so there are always stories to be shared about their latest happenings and discoveries. Sydney is the queen of profound and funny sayings so we are always excited to hear what cute things come out of her mouth. I think our “Day with the Ducklings” session had a profound impact on her as we continue to hear about it even to this day. Sydney is one of the sweetest girls we have ever met and her parents are absolutely wonderful. We are glad to have them as part of the Uchida family.
