PRAYER REQUEST: Sweet Baby Libby

Posted in General, Maternity, Prayers tagged , , , at 6:02 pm by uphoto

This is one of those blogs that is so hard for us to write.  Erin and Hunter are some new clients of ours that have become so dear to us. They found us through Angie Smith’s blog and similar to Todd and Angie they are beautiful people who are having to walk through one of the hardest things imaginable. They are pregnant with a sweet baby girl, Libby, who early into their pregnancy they found out has Trisomy 18 (in Libby’s case she has a hole in her heart). Unfortunately the prognosis of Trisomy 18 is not great. Many babies with it don’t survive until birth and for those that do there is still a high mortality rate for them in the days and months after. As you can imagine this is devastating news to any parent. And that’s what amazes me about Hunter and Erin, in light of their unimaginable circumstances, they have walked through this valley with such an amazing faith, strength, and peace. They are an amazing young couple that are being tested in a time that is typically full of joy and are walking through it in such a beautiful way. My life has already been changed from the hours that we have been able to spend with them and hear parts of their journey. I can’t help but pray for them daily and continue to ask God’s favor upon them.

In light of everything, God has truly been good to them. It is beautiful to hear the stories of numerous people who have come alongside them and encouraged them, from friends and family to doctors and ultrasound technicians. They are definitely not going through this alone. We’ve loved hearing the ultrasound reports that Libby is continuing to do so well. It’s as though everything is falling into place perfectly as they prepare for the arrival of their precious baby girl.

Please join us in praying for them in the weeks to come. Pray for continued growth and strength for Libby. Pray for a good delivery. Pray for their time with her, that they would have precious time to hold her in their arms and enjoy her. Pray for the Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep photography that will happen at the hospital (our prayer selfishly is that we could be there to do it). And pray for God’s presence with them in the unknowns that lie ahead. May they truly be blessed in ways they never dreamed, even in the midst of their sorrow.

Sweet little Libby, do you know that you have already impacted so many? Do you know how lucky you are to have the parents that you do? There are no arms more loving than the ones that you are about to be welcomed into.

Sweet Little Gray

How could you ever say no to that sweet face?!  Grayson is absolutely precious and so much fun.  It’s amazing how much personality a baby can have, but then if you knew her parents you wouldn’t be surprised as they are so full of life and laughter!  I can still picture Gray’s huge smiles at her 3 month session which is so uncommon at that age.  Here are two of our favorites from her 3 month session and one of our favorites from her 6 month session.  Love that sweet face in that hat! ADORABLE!!!

Baby Cooper – PRAYER REQUESTS

Posted in Baby Photography, Family, General, Prayers tagged , , , at 10:46 am by uphoto

Emily and Zac are some wonderful new clients of ours who have the most precious son Cooper.  While Emily was pregnant, at one of her ultrasounds, they were told that Cooper had complications and would not live, and that they should go ahead and terminate the pregnancy.  Cooper was diagnosed with Down’s syndrome and a significant hole in his heart that was deemed incompatible with life.  Even with these hard truths, Emily and Zac were committed to this child and had faith that God could do anything and were determined to carry him for as long as possible.  In spite of all the odds stacked against them they gave birth to their sweet little boy, surprising everyone.  He is truly a miracle!  We were blessed to be able to photograph a Footsteps session for their family and had such a wonderful time with them.  Cooper did great.

We recently learned that Cooper hasn’t been doing so well and has had to go into the hospital, so we would LOVE your prayers for their family.  Since his birth they have planned on needing to do a surgery in the spring to correct the hole in his heart and here are some things they would love prayers for:

•    That he would gain weight and hang in there until his surgery (March 30)
•    That there would be no infections
•    That his kidney function would improve
•    Prayer for the doctors that will be doing the surgery

Thanks so much!  We are very hopeful for this sweet little man.

Happy Birthday Abby!!!

Abby is quite possibly the best sister-in-law in the world! I don’t even have the words to explain how awesome she is and how much I LOVE having her as family.  She is funny, deep, so full of life, and obviously beautiful!  I’m so excited to continue walking with her and seeing what her future holds.  Happy 22nd Birthday Abby!  Hope it’s a great one.

Love,  Danielle

How Cool Is He?! – Spenser 6 Years

Posted in Children, General tagged , , at 8:00 am by uphoto

Spenser is definitely a stud!  Not only was he totally natural in front of the camera and super fun, but he survived some FREEZING weather.  We had suggested rescheduling the session because it was so cold outside but mom insisted that Spenser could handle it and boy was she right!  He was such a trooper and we had a lot of fun with him that afternoon.  Here are some of our favorites.

It’s a BOY!!!

Yesterday was a very exciting day in the Smith house!  We got to have the long awaited ultrasound that we’ve been looking forward to for weeks.  And much to my surprise (virtually everyone predicted us having a girl) we found out we’re having a son!  And let me tell you, our little man was not shy about showing off his stuff! There was no shadow of a doubt that we were having a boy.  We are both thrilled, Jimmy especially.  After our ultrasound I went to Gymboree to make my first little boy purchase and later that evening got to spend some time with the sophomore girls in our Bible study at Mellow Mushroom to celebrate.  Like I said, it was a great day!

Thanks again to all of you who have been so involved and supportive throughout this process with us.  It is truly a blessing to be able to be a part of your families and Jimmy and I are excited to have you as a part of our as well.

And now I am recruiting YOU to give us some boy name suggestions!
